Ann-Mari Pettersen NORWAY
AMPettersen (Ann-Mari Pettersen) is a Norwegian composer, songwriter and arranger. She started playing the flute in the school band at the age of seven and she started composing pieces for solo instruments short time after that.
For many years she studied composition technique with the Norwegian composer Bjørn Sverre Kristensen. As a part of this collaboration she arranged game music for orchestra and this was performed at The Gathering in “Vikingeskipet”, Hamar 2009.
In 2015 she started to study music production at Noroff, School of technology and digital media. Through her internship with composer Raymond Enoksen (Dreamscore), she arranged some of the music for the Norwegian television series “Jakten på Nordlyset” and decided through this work to continue working with film music.
In 2017 she continued her education in Film music at Lillehammer under professor in film music Halldor Krogh. Through this school she has had the opportunity to learn more about film scoring, work close with directors and write music for both The Norwegian radio orchestra (KORK) and Trondheim Symphony orchestra. (TSO).
Ann-Mari has written music for small ensembles and orchestra pieces, here work ranges from electronic to acoustic music, as well as the combination of both. Through studies and her work as an arranger and composer she has developed here knowledge in many musical genres. Through her education in Lillehammer she has written music for documentaries and short films. Including The Culture who just won the FIBRESCI-award (critics award) 24th international short film festival in Drama Greece, Best short film Boston filmfestival and Short film of the year Bergen international film festival.
