Irya Gmeyner SWEDEN
Irya Gmeyner is an artist, composer and producer known for her expressive, suggestive music and colorful voice, with over 20 years of music experience as a touring and recording artist. She has toured all over the world with her indie bands Irya’s Playground and Urga. She is also known for her collaboration with the international known contemporary circus company Cirkus Cirkör as singer and composer for several of their international shows. Her music has been used in American film and TV series like 90210 Beverly Hills, The Neighbors, Wet Behind the Ears, Vendetta and Wynonna Earp. She’s also been writing for film and TV series in Scandinavia, as Anna Odells (Swedish award-winning director) film X&Y and the theme song for Swedish channel 4/SF series Labyrin
Lately Irya has been collaborating with the pianist Martin Hederos. 2019 Irya and Martin was the winner for Best TV music for SVT’s (Swedish National Television) drama series Systrar 1968, at the RIA price ceremony in Stockholm.
Irya is also the founder of the collective Gipomusic, (Girl Power Music) an artist-run, female-driven collective, record label that she started to connect and strengthen femme creatives in music. Over the years Irya has worked with many well-known Swedish artists and musicians as a producer, singer and composer. Irya is currently writing music for a new modern TV series, named The Thin Blue Line, for SVT (Swedish National Television) premiering January 2021.
