Kate Havnevik NORWAY
Kate Havnevik, a Norwegian film composer, lives in a small wooden cottage outside Oslo and was fostered on opera, classical-, and pop music. She is classically trained and with a Bachelor in music from Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Kate has more than 10 years behind her as a songwriter and a recording artist. Her 4 solo albums are all internationally and critically acclaimed and US TV-shows, like Greys Anatomy, embraced Kates music early on using 10 of her songs in the show. She was also commissioned by the shows producer to write a song for season 2. The last few years Kate Havnevik has embarked on a career as a film composer.
Kate works with electronic sounds as well as orchestra and has orchestrated all her pieces herself and uses her voice in instrumental music. Kate has composed music for a numerous short films, documentaries and a family musical feature-film “ Mormor og de 8 ungene”. Kate just finished the score for Norwegian feature «Alle Utlendinger Har Lukka Gardiner” premiering March, 2020, an American short “Aviva” by Erin Li, and is now working on Medieoperatørenes documentary “Bortebane” to be released June, 2020.
