Patricio Fraile DENMARK
PATRICIO FRAILE is a Danish/Spanish composer and multi-instrumentalist. He has established himself as a skilled composer, orchestrator, arranger and producer working on documentary projects for DR, TV2 and NRK, as well as upcoming short and feature films. Such as the multi award-winning and Sundance participating Danish short film Abu Adnan directed by Sylvia Le Fanu. DR documentary Helvedes Homo, starring Abdel Aziz Mahmoud, and most recently the critically acclaimed documentary series Partiernes Skjulte Overgreb, directed by Cavling Prize winner Frederik Brun Madsen. For this project Patricio entered a fruitful collaboration with co-composer Emil Friis and created a unique and iconic sound, combining ambient textures and synths with a string quartet.
Patricios multifaceted musical upbringing began playing classical violin, and later on the viola, guitar and clarinet, playing in orchestras and bands while studying music, composition and film scoring at the university. He moves comfortably between genres, and his music has been recorded with orchestras and musicians in Denmark and Spain as well as with ensemble musicians from ERSO in Tallinn and with the Budapest Art Orchestra. Patricio holds a M.A. in music, specializing in film scoring and orchestration, and has been mentored by A-list composer Carter Burwell and cinematic legend Walter Murch, during a period of studies in Los Angeles and New York.
Patricio continues his studied approach to music composition, experimenting and researching his way into a unique tone and identity for each new project. His broad interest in music and the experience he has gained in the field in Europe, Latin America and Africa, let him to start the music production company and label Grow Music which also collaborates with other composers, musicians, brands and agencies on finding new ways to tell stories through music and sound
