Therese Aune Norway
Therese Aune operates within a minimalistic and playful soundscape, combining soaring synthesizers with acoustic instruments like piano, kalimba, zither or lap harp. She also likes to develop and explore new sounds by using sampling, and prefers working with small ensembles or recording music on her own. Besides composing music, Aune is an active musician having performed several big festivals both in and outside of Norway. Amongst the highlights are festivals like Iceland Airwaves (ICE), Berlin Festival (GER), Días Nórdicos (ESP), SXSW and CMJ (US).
Aune has a bachelor’s degree in performing music from the jazz department at the Music Conservatory in Trondheim. She has also studied Live Electronics (The Norwegian Academy of Music) and Film Music Composition (Lillehammer University college).
She believes strongly that also film music can challenge the listener at some level, and still serve the story of a film.
