Frode Barth NORWAY Guitarist, composer, music teacher and producer. He is known as a modern guitarist with a unique voice and plays on both acoustic and electric guitars. Prepared guitars and electronics are also in his arsenal of sound producing devices. In addition, he is also regarded as a significant composer creating approx. 400 works ranging from incidental music, contemporary classical, jazz, pop/rock and film music, often with a distinct flavor of Northern ambience. He has made music for a number of short films, and delivered a number of suggestions for television programs that have been produced. He directed his first TV documentary "Dance on Neuroses" - broadcasted by NRK, 2017. Frode Barth was educated at Barratt Due's Music Conservatory and the Institute of Music and Theater, University of Oslo. He also has taken Master Classes in London, New York and Cuba. Frode Barth has been playing with great musicians from all over the world, but perhaps most notably with legendary trumpeter Chet Baker. Barth has released 4 CD's under his own name and has performed extensively in festivals as well as being a recurring presence on many TV and radio shows. In 1999 he received the governments working grant for musicians. Frode Barth has a multifarious and distinguished musical career encompassing a wide variety of styles and roles. Frode Barth has received numerous awards and scholarships as well as a Grammy for the album "Going North" (MTG Music). In addition to being a very active artist Barth is a popular guest teacher around the world, He has given master classes and workshops in Norway, Denmark, Russia, Egypt, Ukraine, Slovenia, Mexico, Brazil, Cuba, Thailand and Indonesia. Frode Barth runs his own company, Barth Music and Guitar school “Oslo Gitarskole” www.oslogitarskole.no Frode Barth is the initiator of the Polish Norwegian project “Nor-Pol Bridge” which was supported by the EEA Grant - Norwegian Grant in 2011. The project was based on both countries' folksongs, two outstanding composers (Grieg and Chopin) and jazz musicians who composed new music related to heritage and the art of improvisation. This project is an example of a successful international collaboration with high artistic content. Frode Barth is the leader for Culture Break Borders (NGO).
