Gisli Galdur Thorgeirsson ICELAND
Gisli Galdur Thorgeirsson is an Icelandic composer and musician. He has worked in many different fields of music over the past years. His music career covers work as a member of Icelandic pop, electronic and rock bands, DJing extensively and composing music for films, TV, theatre and dance, commercials, radio drama and artistic installations.He has been a member of bands such as Trabant, Quarashi, Ghostigital, Motion Boys and Human Woman with whom he has released several records and performed with live.
Gisli has been nominated for the Icelandic Performing Arts Award many times for his work in the theatre and received the award for sound and music in "Humanimal" 2009. Gisli graduated from the Music Production program from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen in 2015 where he now lives with his family. In 2017, Gisli composed music for director Ísold Uggadóttir´s first full feature called "And Breathe Normally" which was premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January 2018.In 2018 and 2019 he composed music and was a music supervisor for the TV series "Pabbahelgar" which was written and directed by Nanna Kristin Magnusdottir. The serie became a big hit in Iceland and was premiered in Sweden, early 2020. Gisli continues to work on several projects relating to film, TV, commercials and theatre. |
