Gustav Wall (SE)

Gustav Wall is a Swedish composer. He recently worked with the additional music for the documentary “The last circus princess” (2020), directed by Åsa Sjöström. Other recent work includes making music for documentaries “Jozi Gold” (2019) directed by Fredrik Gertten and Sylvia Vollenhoven, “Petra & Petter” (2019), directed by Johanna Aust, “Tiny Tim - King for a day” (2020), directed by Johan von Sydow and short film “Bermuda” (2018), directed by Erik Warolin.

Gustav is currently working on a drama and will begin composing music for a new upcoming Swedish documentary later this year.

More work from Gustav includes making music for the documentary “Ghost Rockets” (2015), directed by Michael Cavanagh and Kerstin Übelacker. Additional music for the documentary “Blood Sisters”, directed by Malin Andersson. Short films “With open eyes” (2013) and “Inbetweener” (2011) directed by Erik Bäfving.
There was always a Piano at Gustavs parents home where he grew up, in southern Sweden. It was the perfect tool for expressing feelings and ideas. His grandfather, who passed away before his own mother was born, was the one with the musical talent in the family and luckily it was passed on.

Gustav later became very fascinated with the effect music had in films and games and the way music could manipulate or enhance an image or a story.

Later, in 2010, he started recording short sessions of minimal piano music. These were short ideas and melodies that stuck. The short melodies were immediately appreciated by filmmakers and ended up in a Swedish award-winning short documentary, by Erik Bäfving and Malin Andersson, and he decided to become a film score composer.

Since then, Gustav writes music for various projects, ranging from short intense clips to full length movies. He’s also part of several collaborations with other musicians, recording and performing live as flamingus.
