Norwegian lead singer, musician and composer, born 14 July 1972 in Drammen, Norway. Katharina was born in Norway with a Norwegian mother and an English father. She grew up living in both countries and today she lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden. Nuttall is educated at STDH and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with a Master ́s degree in sound art and a Master's degree in film music composition. Katharina plays numerous instruments and uses often electronic techniques such as sampling and programming in her compositions. Nuttall ́s first movie score, the soundtrack for the feature film ”Rosa the movie” was released in 2007. In 2018 Katharina was awarded "The Canadian Federation of Musicians Award for Best Musical Score" for her work with the documentary about the Swedish politician Gudrun Schyman. In 2022 she scored the feature film ”A woman on the roof", which premiered at the Tribeca festival in New York and was directed by the internationally awarded Polish director Anna Jadowska. During 2023 she has been writing the music for the feature-length documentary “The King” produced by Nexico and SF for the cinema and has also written the music for the TV series “The King and I” in three parts on SVT. Both projects directed by Karin af Klintberg. She is currently working on the music for the film "The phantom pain of Rojava" a post war story by director Maryam Ebrahimi, produced by Mantaray Film. As an artist, Katharina Nuttall has previously released her fourth solo album “The Garden” in 2022, the records "Turn me on" (2011), "Cherry Flavor Substitute" (2008) and the debut album "This Is How I Feel" (2007). In 2009, she was awarded the prestigious award "The German Record Critics Award" for the album "Cherry Flavor Substitute". Katharina has also produced and recorded many albums over the years for other artists. |
