Kristin Bolstad NORWAY
Kristin Bolstad (1981) is a Norwegian composer, vocalist and improviser working with site-specific projects, music and sound effects for silent film, and commissions for a variety of ensembles.
Her music is often conceptual, seeking the beauty and simple as well as performative elements, humour and the playful. She has a great fascination for sound and acoustics and likes to explore music and sound in unique venues and spaces. She plays to silent films, creating music, sound effects and foley, live in concerts. She has played to films like, Fritz Lang's "Metropolis" (1927), Mauritz Stiller's "Erotikon" (1920), Victor Sjöström's "Körkarlen" (1921), and a number of silent films by Buster Keaton, Georges Méliès and The Lumière brothers. Together with photographer Signe Fuglesteg Luksengard she is also the creator of the art film project HERE : NOW which presents 5 experimental films, connected to the music album “Tomba sonora” by composer Kristin Bolstad and Stemmeklang vocal ensemble. |
