Lars Kronlund SWEDEN
Lars Kronlund is a composer, songwriter, music producer, and musician from Stockholm, Sweden. He writes music for films, television, and other types of staged events. Lars also composes and produces songs for artists or their record companies, publishers, or management.
Most recently, Lars scored the music for the Swedish feature documentary film ‘Catwalk’ (2020), directed by Johan Skog and the six-part TV series spin-off of the same project.
Other recent work includes music for the exhibition ‘Black Thread’ at the Swedish Museum Of World Culture (2020). Additionally, Lars has toured the world to support the album ‘Stay Good’, Dorado Records (2019), which he produced for his band Brooklyn Funk Essentials.

Lars chose to educate himself in film, attending the London Film School from 1984 to 1987. Before that, he played bass in various Swedish rock bands. He also attended EMS - The Electronic Music Studio in Stockholm. After film school, he started producing music for film and TV commercials at the production house Commercial Music in London. In 1990, he had a UK hit record with the song ‘Where Love Lives’, featuring the artist Alison Limerick. The song would get re-released in 1996 with additional remixes by Frankie Knuckles and Dave Morales. It was a Top 10 UK hit and has since become a house music anthem. In 1993, he moved to New York to work with producer Arthur Baker in his Shakedown Studio. Lars worked with artists such as Al Green, Tina Turner, Hall & Oates, and Maceo Parker.
Since 1993, Lars has been the leader of the musical collective Brooklyn Funk Essentials. A band Lars started with Arthur Baker. He has produced six studio albums with the group and toured in many parts of the world. The band's debut album ‘Cool & Steady & Easy’ (RCA 1995) was named #1 Alternative R&B album in Billboard Magazine in 1995. Their second album entitled ‘In The BuzzBag’ was nominated for a US Grammy award. When Lars wasn’t recording or touring with Brooklyn Funk Essentials, he worked in the studio with artists such as Jody Watley, Isaac Hayes, Frankie Knuckles, Adeva, Ultra Naté, London Beat and Crystal Waters. Many of Lars songs have been licensed for use in movies and television, such as; ‘The Sopranos’, ‘Manifest’, ‘Starsky & Hutch’, ‘Predator 2’, ‘The Prince Of Central Park’, ‘Virtuosity’, ‘The Blacklist’, ‘Party Girl’ and ‘Camp Nowhere’ as well as several commercials and art films. |
