Laura Naukkarinen FINLAND
Lau Nau, aka Laura Naukkarinen, is one of the internationally interesting names in the Finnish contemporary music scene. A composer, producer and performer whose music is imbued with a breadth of vision and idiosyncratic, finely honed sound world. She works using both acoustic and electronic instruments, from traditional instruments and voice to analogue synthesisers, field recordings and electroacoustic experiments.
Lau Nau has composed music to seven long films, the most recent being Lotta Petronella’s “Själö - Island of Souls” 2020, additional music with Matti Bye to Zaida Bergroth’s “Tove” 2020 and Miia Tervo’s “Aurora” 2019. To date Lau Nau has released seven albums in Europe, USA and Japan, garnering prize nominations like Teosto-, Emma-, Jussi- and Femma prizes. She composes also for silent films, theatre, dance and multi channel sound installations.
