Martin Smoge NORWAY

Martin Smoge is a Norwegian composer working across film, television and short-form narrative. He contributed to the score for Quisling – The Final Days directed by Erik Poppe, a major Norwegian drama exploring the final chapter of Vidkun Quisling’s life and legacy.
His Nordic work also includes the Finnish crime series Evilside (FI), and the documentary series Marerittet and Märtha (NO), expanding his experience with psychological realism and character-driven storytelling. Between larger productions he maintains an active presence in the short-film scene, which he sees as an artistic laboratory for sonic ideas and collaborative research. Smoge’s musical language blends detailed sound design with harmonic and melodic writing. While deeply interested in building distinctive sonic worlds, he describes himself fundamentally as a “melody person.” He is fascinated by the moment when getting to know a character unlocks melodic material he didn’t know he had — when narrative empathy becomes musical invention. He participates in the 2026 edition of Nordic Film Music Days in Berlin as part of the expanding Nordic scoring community. |
