Matilda Bådagård SWEDEN
|
Matilda Bådagård is a Swedish singer, violinist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and composer for film and performing arts. She is also a touring and recording musician as well as a music producer.
Her music is earthy, organic, and deeply human—minimalistic and raw Nordic Noir blended with airy, orchestral soundscapes. She moves freely between melodic, folkloristic themes, abstract and experimental sounds, and rhythmic elements. Improvisation and intuition are essential pillars of her creative process. She primarily works with organic instruments but enjoys experimenting with sound sources in production, incorporating electronic elements and unexpected twists. With an art degree in jazz from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, classical violin training, and expertise as a professional singer and pianist, Matilda brings a broad and versatile skill set to her work. Matilda has worked with filmmakers in Scandinavia, the US and Canada and her recent work includes features, like GLACIER (Viaplay, 2021) with script from one of the most prominent thriller authors in the world Camilla Läckberg, directed by Baker Karim, documentaries, such as INK, BLOOD AND SOCKS (SVT, 2023) and various shorts. She has also composed music for dance and theatre. |
