Peder Kjellsby NORWAY
|
Peder Capjon Kjellsby is a Norwegian composer, with a diverse catalog of music to show for. Having composed music for feature films, stage plays, TV, in addition to producing, writing, performing and engineering albums in genres ranging from jazz to Hip Hop to industrial metal, pop, electronica and modern classical music, you might say he is well rounded in a very broad musical field. Known for his long time collaboration with the Norwegian director/writer Dag Johan Haugerud and for the noir-ish crime franchise «Varg Veum», he has won the Norwegian Amanda for best score and a Harpa nomination. Claiming the studio as his main instrument, Peder plays many instruments. Having toured and recorded extensively as a drummer, the hunt for new sounds, textures, chord progressions, harmonies and melodies is still his favorite field of musical exploration. Peder is based in Nesodden, just outside of Oslo, but travels frequently to his rural studio, deep inside the Swedish woods of Dalsland. This is the perfect hide-out and creative space to work un-interupted, not only for himself, but also for Norwegian acts like Highasakite, Emilie Nicolas, Jaga Jazzist, Ingrid Olava, Team Me, Christian Wallumrød, Spunk, Gabrielle and Moddi, to mention a few. |
