Composer, musician, arranger, producer and chaplain master Povl Kristian (born 1964) is an award-winning Danish composer and he is one of the indispensable characters in danish music history, who has a share in more concerts, records and film scores than most others.
Currently Povl Kristian can include more than 100 films on his resume; feature films, short films, documentaries, graduation films and TV shows, including Anne Wivel's film Svend (2011) and Kasper Aastrup Schrøder's Waiting for the sun (2016), and Strunge Armed With Words and Wings (2018). The list of stage plays and feature films are also impressive. He received a Danish Music Awards in the category Soundtrack of the Year for Hella Joof's music En Kort En Lang (2001), and he was also honored with an EKKO Shortlist Award for his music in Per Dreyer's short film Far (2011). Recent work from Povl includes Beautiful Something Left Behind (2020), a documentary by Katrine Philip. It won best documentary on south by southwest in Texas and UNICEF PRICE. He has also created music for documentaries such as; Colombia In My Arms (2020) by Jenni Kivistö & Jussi Rastas, De skygger vi arver (2019) by Susanne Kovacs, In Limbo 2019 by Anja Dalhoff and Q´s Barbershop (2019) by Emil Langballe. The list of nominations and awards he has received for his work is almost infinite. |
